During the Fall 2022 term, four tasks were assigned to students, consisting in reporting on one of the weekly guest lectures. A fifth assignment consisted in advancing a proposal for the final Research Report, completed with a tentative title, an abstract, keywords, and indication of the thematic category to which the proposal might belong. The final assignment consisted in the preparation of posters illustrating each individual research: the posters contained a research questions (and three sub-questions), keywords, and bibliographic references and was accompanied by maps, graphs, photographs, drawings, plans, and text references. During a session held on November 21st the posters were presented to a public consisting of fellow students and instructors form the Politecnico di Milano: as part of the same session, a group of students from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen connected via videoconference introduced their respective research projects.
About the seminars
The seminars The Global Architect are taught within the Architecture and Urban Design MSc program by Gaia Caramellino, Pierre-Alain Croset, Christian Gänshirt, and Paolo Scrivano. They intend to provide support for students enrolled in the Master’s Program “Architecture and Urban Design”in the elaboration of their final theses. The seminars are led in collaboration with the course “History of Architecture and Urbanism” at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen’s Expertise Center Architecture, Urbanism and Health, under the direction of Cor Wagenaar.
